From Middle School Flame To Forever Love
For Katey and Kyle, their love story started in middle school when they first met through a Christian youth group. After remaining good friends throughout high school, they started dating when they both went off to college at the University of South Florida in Tampa in 2013. In 2021, during Memorial Day weekend, Kyle decided to take advantage of having some of Katey’s closest family and friends present by proposing to her! It was a beautiful proposal in Landing Park surrounded by those they loved most - what could be better than that? (Maybe that Kyle sang “This I Promise You” by NSYNC to Katey before popping the question? So sweet!)
Advice from the Happy Couple
The happy couple offers some advice for other couples getting ready to plan their own wedding: Take a step back from the craziness of planning and invest in marriage preparation classes or retreats. Also, it is highly recommended to hire a wedding planner or at least a day-of coordinator as they can help take care of all the details so you have more time to focus on your relationship and enjoy the moment. Having professionals on their side meant they could spend more time with each other, with their beagle girl, Lani, try new coffee shops and cook meals together. Just a few of their favorite things to do with one another!
