Today, we want to share with you the story of Madi and Glen, a couple whose wedding day was nothing short of magical. They met in the most unexpected way, but their love story blossomed from the first day they met. Let's dive into their romantic journey and their unforgettable wedding day on April 14th, 2023, at the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine, FL.
Love Story
Madi and Glen's love story began in a small, cozy apartment in Ohio. Madi's cousin, Jon, was roommates with Glen at the Air Force Institute of Technology, and he invited Madi to attend his graduation. When she arrived, she met Glen, and the two stayed up all night talking about Madi's plans to move to Orlando in two weeks for a new job. Glen was smitten from the start and sent her a dozen sunflowers on her first day of work. By the end of the week, he had purchased a plane ticket to help Madi finish moving into her new apartment, and their love story began.
During the pandemic, Madi pursued her master's degree in project management online at Georgetown University. For her graduation, she planned a special trip to DC, where their families met for the first time. Madi planned every detail of the trip, but little did she know, Glen had a plan of his own. The day after graduation, both families took a brunch cruise on the Potomac and headed to the Lincoln Memorial for sightseeing. Glen then surprised Madi by proposing in front of the reflecting pool overlooking the Washington Monument. It was a monumental moment that neither of them will ever forget!
Wedding Day
Their wedding day on April 14th, 2023, at the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine, FL was a dream come true. The historical venue provided a stunning backdrop for their big day, and our team at Southern Palms Studio captured every moment with ease. Madi shared that they chose Southern Palms Studio, and their other vendors because they wanted a team of experts who were familiar with the area and experienced with the venue since they are not local. Too, many of their vendors were selected so that the couple could support local/small businesses, receive high-quality service at a fair price, and were able to reduce the number of contacts by selecting vendors that offer multiple services (like we offer photography AND videography in-house).
Madi looked absolutely flawless in her satin mermaid-cut gown, with soft curls and a stunningly unique bridal bouquet. The ceremony was filled with emotion and love as they exchanged their vows, and their reception was a lively celebration with their friends and family. (We even got puppy dog eyes when the couples' sweet pooch made an appearance for bridal portraits!!)
From start to finish, their wedding day was one for the books. The location, the decor, the food, and the music were all carefully chosen and executed to perfection. Their love story warms our hearts, and we're grateful to have been part of their journey. The day was nothing short of magical and we were thrilled to capture every moment to help last a lifetime.
